Educational Resources

The Occupational Therapy Examination and Practice Preparation (OTepp) is a program that assists internationally educated occupational therapists (IEOTs) as they seek to transition into practice in Canada. Study modules and a clinical internship are offered.

Financial Resources

  1. Immigrant Access Fund (IAF) lends low interest loans to skilled immigrants who cannot pay for the accreditation/training they need to work in their field in Canada. Loans can cover the following expenses:
    • Short-term (two years or less) training
    • Exam fees with a professional governing association
    • Travel expenses to write an exam
    • Qualification assessments - the SEAS process would fall under this category
    • Professional association fees
    • Books and course materials
    • English language courses specific to employment
    • Living allowance during study time
    • Other related expenses
  2. Foreign Credential Recognition ( FCR ) Loans Pilot Project  is a federal program that provides financial support to community -support programs in select communities across the country. These programs support immigrants as they work towards having their credentials recognized.
